Sewing Kit Made from Wool Felt ScrapsPosted: March 19, 2009
One of my Monday night knitting buddy’s (The Knotty Professor) has a super-wicked-awesome-cool crafty mom who sends her neat-o stuff about every thirty seconds I think. One of the things she received that I drooled over intensely was a very functional sewing kit. Now, I’m no great seamstress. Even the thought of clearing a space out for my machine in the tiny place I call home makes my brain hurt…but who doesn’t constantly need a little bit or this or a little bit of that. So remember the $3 of old man wool felt scraps I bought as part of my Mystery Projects…I present (drum roll please), my very OWN sewing kit.
I LOVE IT!!!! I cannot stress enough how happy this has made me. I have been using it for a few weeks now. I just hadn’t bothered to finish the design on the front so I didn’t feel like posting it. ” Where is my needle?” RIGHT HERE! “Where are my stitch markers?” RIGHT HERE! Oh the Joy… I overstuffed the pocket for the pins, but whatev’s, I’m not tearing it apart to make it flatter. Mine will just be puffy, thank you very much.
Did I mention the full and total cost of this was THREE DOLLARS!!!! Yeah, and I still have tons of scraps left over. Singing the screw you recession blues ♫
And on a “has nothing to do with sewing at all” note…eggs…I feel like talking about dying eggs. It’s almost Easter after all. Check out Lolly Chops awesome post on how to leave really clean images behind…super idea, great website! And I have my own humble little tutorial floating out there in the blog-o-verse. Check out naturally dying eggs and making flower and leaf patterns.
We did it, we took the plunge. I now run a Female, Veteran owned Small Business.
